TWin Lever Bug

This 'bug' was a precision key capable of being adjusted to very fine limits and four pre-production models were made.

However, due to some prevailing circumstances in 2003, Tom was unable to proceed any further with its manufacture, a shame as they do look rather splendid units.

The distinctive and famous TW logo can be seen on the base.

Tom has kindly passed on some additional  information which appears below.

The original TWinLever had two levers mechanically linked and operated by a single lever and this is the one shown in my QRZ entry (see  the photo above).

Four pre-production models were made;  I owned Nr 0001 which I have now passed on to Mike G4BLH,  Nr 0002 is owned by my pal Rob M0TDX,  Nr 0003 was sold to a collector in the U.S.A and Nr 0004 was sold to a European station who uses it regularly.

Production was envisaged but due to the continued ill health of my wife, I abandoned the project. Sadly, circumstances now allow me to pick up the threads again. The very first 'bug' I produced was my version of the Eddystone bug which I first saw in Webb's Radio in Soho, London in 1950. The best thing about the Eddystone bug was the moulded handle and the innovative cover.  As a bug, it was pretty dire !!

When Tom very kindly gave me one of these keys, he also provided a diagram (see below) that illustrates the various adjustment points.
