TW Other Keys

Tom made a few ‘other’ keys, some of which appear to be prototypes for keys that went into production or were intended to go into production.  All the photos below appear by courtesy of Rupert G4XRV.

Key 1

This may be a prototype of the similar grey TWinlever key, but it is missing the dash knob and it has no ‘weight’.

Key 2

This may be an even earlier prototype of the TWinlever key.

The metal  plate reads G3HGE Twinlever, and according to Rupert G4XRV, all in the style of a Vibroplex bug plate.

Key 3

This is believed to be an earlier Vibroplex copy which Rupert G4XRV says  Tom made in 1996.

Rupert set about dismantling this key because it was in need of cleaning and some TLC.

Key 4

This appears to be a prototype of the TW Magpad.

During the process of dismantling, Rupert found the note shown below attached to the base.

The very faint writing at the bottom left says ‘ MARBLE FROM IAN’S FIREPLACE’ (Iain is Tom’s son and he confirms that it did indeed come from an old fireplace).
